An accountant who talks to you all year, not just at year end

I am Mwamba, and I run the Manchester practice of dns accountants, working with limited companies and LLPs across the UK turning over £120,000 or more. Year end accounts, corporation tax, VAT, payroll and director tax planning, with straight answers when a decision needs making. Packages start at £150 a month.

WHY PEOPLE MOVE

Does any of this sound familiar?

You only hear from your accountant when something is due.
You find out what you owe with weeks to plan for it, not months.
You chase for an answer, and get it after the decision is already made.
You signed up with one person and now deal with whoever is free that week.
None of that makes them a bad accountant. It is just what happens when a practice is built around deadlines instead of the people filing them.
Who this is for

Who I work with

Limited companies and LLPs

Sole traders too, where the business is established or turning over more than £35,000.

£120,000+ turnover

Or on track to pass it in the next 12 months.

Looking for a long term accountant

Not a one off tax return, unless you are buying or selling a business.

The honest bit

This is probably not for you if:

You are a sole trader turning over less than £35,000
You want a one off self assessment and nothing else
Price is the main thing you are deciding on
You are not ready to make a decision in the next 90 days

I would rather say this now than take up your time on a call. If any of the above describes your situation, another accountant is likely to suit you better, and I would rather tell you that early.

About Mwamba

I run the Manchester practice of dns accountants, a top 100 UK firm, and I have worked in the industry for over ten years. You get me and my team day to day, with the systems and technical backup of a national group behind us. Clients are based across the UK, not only in the north west.

I work with growing limited companies, start ups and property investors, and I spend as much time on the systems behind the numbers as on the numbers themselves. If the bookkeeping, payroll and reporting need tidying up, that is usually where we start.

I also write regularly for directors on the things that actually move the needle: company car tax, taking money out of the business, the £100,000 childcare threshold, and where HMRC is heading next.

Common questions

What people ask before they switch

What happens with my current accountant?

I write to them, request your records and handle the professional clearance. You do not need to have an awkward conversation.

When is the best time to move?

Usually before your year end, which keeps the handover clean. It can be done at any point in the year if there is a reason to move sooner.

What will it actually cost?

Packages start at £150 a month for limited companies. The figure depends on turnover, payroll and how much bookkeeping is involved. You will have the price in writing before any work begins.

Do I need to be near Manchester?

No. The office is on King Street in Manchester and plenty of clients come in, but most of the work happens online. I look after businesses right across the UK.

My books are in a mess. Is that a problem?

It is common, and it is usually where we start. I will tell you what needs cleaning up, what it involves and what it costs before any of it begins.

Which software do you work with?

The main cloud packages. If you already use one and it works for you, there is no need to change it. If you are not using anything yet, I will suggest what fits the size of your business.

What happens after I send my answers?

You get a short summary of how your setup looks. If we look like a fit, I will offer you a discovery call. If we are not, I will say so and point you in a better direction.

Next step

A second opinion on your current setup

Five questions about how your finances are run today, then my honest read on what is working, what is not, and whether I am the right accountant to help. It takes two minutes and costs nothing.

What happens next: I read your answers myself, reply with an honest view, and if we look like a fit I will offer you a 45 minute call. No pitch on that call.
